Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in a Literacy Rich Classroom

In this course, participants will co-construct their own understandings of belonging through a culture of dignity, and how it connects to literacy practices throughout the curriculum. With the help of Jon Krownapple and Floyd Cobb's work from the text, Belonging Through a Culture of Dignity: The Keys to Successful Equity Implementation, as well as the Penn Literacy Network's frameworks, The Four Lenses of Learning and The Five Reading, Writing, and Talking Processes participants will learn implementation strategies to bring back into their classrooms and professional communities.

Each class session will include a variety of interactive strategies, reflective discussion, and more to highlight the various concepts in the intersections between belonging and literacy.
