Advanced Spanish Language Learning for Educators

This advanced course is a follow-up to Introductory Spanish Language Learning for Educators. It is designed for educators who want to deepen their awareness of the Spanish language and the Spanish-speaking world. As with the introductory course, participants will be immersed in language practice and culturally relevant content highlighting figures, traditions, and literature from Latin America, with particular attention to the countries of origin from the local Latino student population. Instruction includes hands-on opportunities for language practice, such as role-plays, Total Physical Response, and concrete manipulatives, as well as explicit attention to grammar and pronunciation. Participants are asked to consider the implications of these learning experiences for their own contexts.Prerequisite: Participants must have already taken the PLN Introductory Spanish for Educators Course. There is no prerequisite level of Spanish proficiency.
